It seems probable this photo is of Africana 18 5969, an INSA owned Italian ship that was seized by the Germans at Gotenhafen Sep 1943 and which was scuttled as a blockship at Danzig 23/3/45. The ship was refloated by Soviet salvors 7/6/45 (which dates the photo a little later than stated) and subsequently scrapped. The ship has the look of an engine aft cargo ship which was a fairly popular Italian design. Unfortunately I have no photo of Africana or the ship under her former names (built as Sestri, became Valleluce 1923 and Africana in 1935 to be able to confirm.
