Ellerman Lines' 1946 Wm. Denny, Dumbarton, built CITY OF LUCKNOW was, when seen passing Portishead in September 1960, the ship which triggered my lifetime interest in ships. Her penultimate visit to Avonmouth was in July 1963. Here she is seen passing Port Chalmers, outbound from Dunedin, in November 1959.
