Distant view of Point Reyes Lighthouse at the tip of Point Reyes in California just north of San Francisco. The lighthouse is owned and administered by the U.S. National Park Service and is perched on a near vertical cliff above the Pacific Ocean which was not very Pacific when I visited the site. Visitors are allowed to walk down a few hundred steps to the lighthouse - the walk is not for the faint of heart or those who fear heights as the walk is along the cliff face for part of the journey. Well worth a visit though.
