Description:

Longline fishing vessel seen moored at the Makah Tribal Marina in Neah Bay, Washington.

Originally built for fisheries out of Iles de la Madeleine, between Quebec and Newfoundland, but brought to the Pacific coast of Canada in the mid-seventies. In 2001, the vessel was arrested by US authorities when found with 2.5 tonnes of cocaine stored aboard. As a result, the boat was then sold to US owners c.2007, explaining the odd case of a foreign-built vessel with US documentation and used in domestic commercial service.
