Description:
The 1929 Copenhagen built MARITSA, owned by M.A.Karageorgis, had called at Avonmouth on 16th August 1963. Here she is seen in the River Mersey off Birkenhead, possibly on the same voyage.
Ex - NYHORN - 62 (Nortraship became managers from April 1940 - she arrived at Casablanca on 30th June 1940 and was interned there by the Vichy authorities. She was returned to Nortraship management on 20 August 1943.)
Later: 1965 MASTROSTAMATIS - 66 SANDIMITRIOS
Her last loaded voyage of SANDIMITRIOS started at Barry on 7th September 1967, when she sailed for Japan, probably with a cargo of scrap metal. Following discharge, she finally arrived at Kaohsiung for scrapping on 5th January 1968.
