Marc - This is GREAT! I wasn't too far from you on this day where you took this I don't think. It was the Saturday, and on Sunday, Operation Sail. Since there was not a Presidential visit, the harbor was less "locked down" with far more pleasure boats and other branches of govt. The Goodyear blimp here was The Mayflower I believe. There was a 2nd one as well (either the America or Columbia). Thanks for posting my friend.

Glad you like this one. What a parade it was! It started at 8.00 am and I was still photographing underway naval vessels from under the Verrazano Bridge until mid-afternoon. This was the first naval review I ever attended and I wish I could have been on the water to get closer to the passing ships. However in the early evening, we took the Staten Island ferry which passed between two lines of anchored ships and I was really having a field day almost running from one side to the other to get a crack at the ships. Great memories indeed.
