Description:
KITSA, the former SUNRIP partly constructed in aluminium, passing the Royal Docks' entrance exactly fifty years ago today, on 3rd September 1973, inbound for Thames Refinery Jetty, Silvertown, with a cargo of sugar cane.
This is the only ship which I managed to photograph during lunchtime while working in central London during 1972/74.
Built for Saguenay Terminals in 1954 at Lauzon, Canada, she had been sold in 1967 to A.M.Embiricos and renamed PENELOPE E., but was resold within Greece in 1970 to become KITSA and "sold east" in 1974 to become GOLDEN FALCON as which she arrived at Kaohsiung on 13th January 1978 to be broken up.
