Description:
One of the many calls at Avonmouth of Pacific Steam Navigation Company’s 1955 Greenock built steam turbine powered PIZARRO was on 12th/16th September 1963, with a part cargo of fish meal from San Antonio, Chile.
Here is she is seen late in her career, sailing from London's Royal Docks on 12th May 1972, bound for Liverpool
At the end of 1972 she was sold, together with sister ships POTOSI and COTOPAXI, to Gourdomichalis of Piraeus to trade as KAVO MALEAS until arriving at Kaohsiung on 10th October 1974 for breaking, her sisters lasting a year or two longer.
