Description:

ALADIN laid up in a sorry state in Dubai Maritime City, November 2022. I know the quality is not the best but I though it is interesting as an update of the whereabouts of the vessel. Also a former US govt research vessel tied up behind her, not sure of the name. ALADIN was last employed as a floating armoury in the Gulf of Aden, I believe.

The old American research vessel behind ALADIN is LATTE ex-OCEAN STARR ex-DAVID STARR JORDAN. She left Dubai on 29 Dec 2022, arriving at Alang on 17 January 2023: https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:437540/mmsi:-7333195/imo:7333195/vessel:OCEAN_STARR

ALADIN was actually broken up at the same time ("broken up 18 January 2023" as per IHS), so they may well have gone together to Alang.

Very interesting Ralph, thanks for the update! Looks to be in very rough condition.

Cheers,
