Her design is down to three timber ships built at Goole for Klondyke Shipping in the 1960s. The design evolved into mini bulkers which were built for Everards in the 1970s, the last poair built in UK were on the Tyne for London & Rochester Trading. THERESE and her sister were built in Malta after Swan Hunters were awarded the management contract for the yard there. Two other smaller ships to the XL400 design were also built there for British owners as Swan Hunter yards had full order books
