Thank you for the update lappino, that explains why the vessel was a bit longer than usual at the shipyard.

Interesting, thanks Ian.

The schedule of this particular vessel was a bit longer than usual, because she was in limbo for a couple of months after February 2022, until she was sold to Alfagas (on this photo there is still Sovcomflot marking on her funnel). Otherwise, Hyundai Samho construction time for a gas tanker of this size would be 18-20 months.

Cheers

Thanks Vlad, What happens with when a ship like is this in limbo? Is it towed out of the yard to a a layup berth somewhere to free up space, or does it just sit there?

This particular one was just delayed on her construction slip, as the various service providers engaged in her construction pondered how to proceed in light of sanctions imposed on Russian entities; other vessels in similar situation (like Arc7 LNG tankers at Daewoo/Hanwha) were indeed moved to free the space for other vessels, like "Pyotr Kapitsa", launched without her engine casing. Once her owner was changed, it was business as usual.
