Jebsen Tauranga and sisters were employed on the Tasman Jebsen Line services from New Zealand to Asia from delivery ex yard. Later replaced and these transferred within the Jebsen Group and were given "General" names and while her sisters returned on other service, as General Tirona the subject vessel did not. Jebsen later sold out of the joint venture that became Tasman Asia Line.
