The Río Pativilca class patrol boats are a variant of the Taeguk Class (of the South Korean Navy), with a length of 55.3 m, beam of 8.5 m and draft of 2.3 m, displacing approximately between 450 and 500 tons. Propulsion is provided by two 3,345 HP Caterpillar 3516C HD diesel engines (and two 250 kW Caterpillar C9 generators), which allow it to reach a speed of 22 knots. The autonomy, at 14 knots, is estimated at about 3,600 nautical miles and it has capacity for a crew of 25: 5 officers and 20 specialists. In addition, it has the capacity to accommodate a boarding group of 14 troops.
