The 1963 Rijeka built BANAT, operated by Jugoslavenska Oceanska Plovidba of Kotor, Montenegro (Yugoslavia), is seen departing from Liverpool exactly forty years ago today, on 3rd March 1984. She was bound for Aalborg following discharge of a part cargo of animal feedstuffs from India.

For her delivery voyage to breakers at the end of 1989, BANAT's name was abbreviated to ANA, as which she arrived off Alang on 9th January 1990 for beaching.
