Description:

Malaysian International Shipping Company's 1971 Shimonoseki built BUNGA TANJONG departing from Liverpool exactly fifty years ago today, on 30th March 1974, during a voyage from Hamburg to Yokohama.

BUNGA TANJONG's final voyage was from Antwerp on 21st November 1985 to South Korea via Hong Kong. Following discharge, she proceeded to Shanghai for scrapping, arriving there on 27th February 1986.

Wonderful detail at high res (as usual, Malcolm), and I could not help but notice the risk-taking sailor retrieving a wooden fender.

As you probably know, 'Bunga' means flower' in Malay, & 'Tanjung' or 'Tanjong' is the Spanish cherry tree in English.
