Description:

Circa 1966/68 at an unknown port - possibly La Goulette (Tunis).

One of five sisterships built for "Tirrenia" SpA di Nav., of Naples, Italy.
1) CALABRIA
2) CAMPANIA FELIX
3) LAZIO
4) SARDEGNA &
5) SICILIA.


I believe this image is displayed the correct way around, and doesn't require flipping.

As for the port, the photographer took photos at both Genoa and Naples.

The SARDEGNA's scheduled routes included Naples but not Genoa.
It could carry up to a maximum of 560 passengers, whose spaces were divided into the traditional three classes.

Ship's details:
Keel laid on 22/07/1950, launched on 10/02/1952, and completed 0n 01/11/1952, and delivered to 'Tirrenia' on 03/11/1952, by Navalmeccanica, Castellammare di Stabia, Italy (598)
5,208 g.t. & 1,379 dwt., as:
'Sardegna', until sold to Italy for demolition.
Vessel was broken up at Ortona during February 1984.
