Swedish Johnson Line's SANTOS is here seen in Bergen in April 1980. The vessel has here the funnel mark of Norwegian South America Line (SAL); which was a line dating from 1914, and where Johnson Line was part-owner since 1976.
SANTOS was built 1959 by Lindholmens Varv, Gothenburg, as one out of seven sister vessels for Rederi AB Nordstjärnan (Johnson Line). In 1969 she was lengthened with 23,7 meters by Eriksbergs M/V, Gothenburg.

Following 10 months of lay-up at Gothenburg, she was in July 1983 sold to Panama flag owners and renamed SANTOS III.
This did not last long; already on 10/12-1983 she arrived at Chittagong, Bangladesh for demolition.
