Description:

The unnamed prototype Waveney class lifeboat 44-001 built to a U.S. coastguard design. This lifeboat is now preserved at Chatham Historic Dockyard. 44-001 was participating in the RNLI's 175th anniversary sail past at Poole on 23 June 1999 in this photo. The RNLI's 200th anniversary sail past will be taking place at Poole in 27 days time on Sunday 19 May 2024.
