Description:
An unknown General Cargo Ship seen in New York Cities Upper Bay in a shot taken presumably around July of 1953.
UPDATE: This is the 1948 South Shields built Pine Class General Cargo Ship IRISH PINE of Irish Shipping Ltd, re-engined in 1960, she was sold out of the fleet in 1965, and further operated as AMAZON and ARAMON. In 1979, her cargo of bitumen solidified in her holds whilst on a voyage from Piraeus, Greece to Port Sudan, Sudan, she arrived at Kaohsiung to be scrapped by Taiwan Ship Scrap Co Ltd on May 22nd, 1979, her cargo still solidified in her holds.
Sister Ship: IRISH OAK (IMO 5163211)
