Description:

Wreck of the liberty freighter Richard Montgomery (Nr. 1199), bt. in 7/1943, in the river Thames of Sheerness on 13.5.2007.
You see now only the masts.
The ship went aground on 20.8.1944 on a sandbank full loaded with explosives for the war. She was directed to a wrong anchorage place, stranded and later broke. Since then nobody has tried to save the wreck. In the internet you read, that an explosion of that wreck could cause a Tsunami in that area. Luckily at that day nothing happened.
