this is one of the advantages of being a seaman and passing the Canal yourself. From the visitors' lookout platform at Miraflores you cannot get such an angle 8-)

well, the problem in Panama is that it is a hazy, misty area and thus most my Panama pictures turn out to be garbage. No good for photography.

Best is, however, when you have a thunderstorm in about 4-5 miles distance. then the air clears up, and as long you are in the sun, you can make quite good pictures for a short while.
that was the case this very day :-)
