Description:

The Great Lakes bulker Edward L. Ryerson backs down the Black River to Lake Erie after unloading taconite in Lorain, Ohio, early on the morning of June 12, 2007. The Ryerson under the skillful hand of the captain successfully negotiates a narrow spot in the river occupied by a highway bridge and now has almost a straight route to the breakwater and Lorain lighthouse. No doubt the several dozen people in cars headed to work who were delayed about 25 minutes enjoyed this spectacle far less than we did!

Thanks Bill -- the secret of timing was to get up early enough to be there and not miss it and know where to take what photos. Thanks!
