I remember visiting two nice vessels in some museum not far from Winnipeg, I wonder if they are still there, despite the floodings?

you were most certainly visiting the Marine Museum here in Selkirk. The ships were damaged in the 2007 flood (they either had their holds and engine rooms flooded or floated off their foundations), but have been restored since. The owner of the Lord Selkirk II wanted the museum to take over the ship, but they refused due to high maintenance costs. Now she is sold for scrap, but still sitting in the slough.
