Description:

Former US Navy NEOSHO-class fleet oiler TRUCKEE (T-AO-147) and FULTON-class submarine tender ORION (AS-18) as shown while laid up at the James River Reserve Fleet off Fort Eustis VA on September 22, 2005.
TRUCKEE is still there but ORION was broken up at Sparrows Point last year.

Hi Marc: I spent a couple of enjoyable days with some of the lads aboard Truckee back in 1960 ( See photo posted Aug 11th,2007).Brownie special was not a great camera,but I got started snapping ships back around then.I still have several other views of Truckee,but probably the old B&Ws arn't too welcome these days.Frankly, I think B&W give better ship detail than colour!All best wishes,Ken
