*LT 535.* Steel single screw tug built 1943 at Orange, TX, by Levingston SBCorp. as hull no. 331 for the Transportation Corps, Dept. of the Army. 135.5 x 33.1 x 14.6; 505 gt, 333 nt; twin 12-cylinder Cleveland Diesels, 8.75" x 10.5, serving to Allis-Chalmers electric motors connected to a single shaft, 1900-bhp. Retired from service 1972 and laid-up at Stockton, CA. Moved to Mare Island, CA, 1983 to be used as a target vessel. Transferred to the U. S. Navy and converted to the submarine escort vessel *Pacific Escort,* designated as a "work boat" (143WB8401) stationed at Mare Island. Retired 1989 and transferred to Norfolk, VA for lay-up. Sold 1995 to Dana Marine Services, Inc., Mobile, AL, for conversion to a twin-screw offshore supply boat/tug. Repowered 1997 with twin EMD 16-645E6 Diesels, total 3,900-bhp, and renamed *Ataboy* 1039096/IMO no. 8936906: 137.2' x 33.1 x 14.5; 493 gt, 401 nt.
