Hi Allan

Excellent shot - not many of those about that will show all three (Tyne) DFDS together in the same frame. Well done Mate.

I was wondering when I took this photo wheather has there ever been a time when there has been 3 DFDS ferries together like this in the Tyne before?

Does anyone know what will now be the schedule for the King of Scandanavia from now on (short term). I see she has been moved since the photo I took at 10am Saturday.

Also just another question if you don't mind, about the Oil Rig.....has it been de-commisioned like it said on the local news channel?

Thanks for the comments about the photograph. It is very much apprieciated.

No, I don't think so anyway, your shot is unique in everyway! :-)

Hi Allan

I would be very surprised if the three have been photographed together on the Tyne - that is why said I your photograph was unique. If you think about it, two of the ferries are on the North Shields to Ijmuiden route, so it would be very rare if they were in the Tyne together, only if one was broken down. The QOS is on the Scandinavian route and she is often in the Tyne with one of the others.

KOS is now up at A&P Bede, Kevin managed to take some great photographs of her being towed up river by Yarm Cross and Rowangarth later this afternoon. Some fine close up shots of her damage.

The Semisubmsrsible Rig, Northern Producer, is not strictly 'decommissioned' - lack of knowledge by the Press as per usual. She is simply on 'lay by' waiting for he next job.

I'm still interested to know if the initial reports that the KOS broke away from the Northumberland Quay were correct and why was she there and not the Ro/Ro berth?

Regards

Steve Ellwood
