Nice stuff young man!
Ah, Hamburg. Wonderful green little ship in front, harbour-cruiser?

Thanks, Tomas! Didn't know Color Line AS was situated in Sandefjord :-D

Yes, the green one, "Kirchdorf", now is mostly used for harbour cruises, but sometimes she is still in service as a harbour ferry, her original purpose when put into service in 1962. She's the last of many sisters still remaining in HADAG service. There were 15 others like her, together they were a series of vessels built between 1952 and 1962, so called Typschiff III.
Some are broken up already, some are still in service abroad and some changed into private hands.
Here's one of Typschiff II series, built between 1953 and 1957.

Oh yes sir, it spawned from the Jahre-line, of the ANders Jahre, a very influental and big shipowner here in Sandefjord.
Company history in english, very nice.
He donated the towns city hall, and the goverment is chasing his offshore funds, billions.

Impressive biography, a self-made billionaire!
But why is the Norwegian government chasing his funds? I should think the government itself made "some" money in the offshore business! :-D

Tax-cheating, hehe... But the stupid goverment has spend allmost as much chasing the money. Oh well. Yeah, he made lots and lots of money! The whaling, questionable...

I think whaling was ok in the past. But then it ended up like almost everything mankind does: We couldn't get enough, we started to exaggerate things. Money, money, money... Like the fishing industry today, the exploitation of the rain forest, the oil industry and so on... It's a shame! :-(

Wise words mister. One day we are getting it all in return, one or the other way.

These are wise words, too! :-D
But now for something more cheerful:
Did you know that brandnew AIDAbella left Meyer-Werft in Papenburg today and will visit Oslo at the end of April on her maiden voyage?
Just watched her on tv going down the river Ems (a short report from this morning).

Goddamn, gonna burn some trainmoney catching lots of cruisevessels this summer. But you bet a lot of the other Norwegian spotters will do as well. Hehe, i am planning my own spaces to shoot, hehe...

Maybe I can catch AIDAbella in Kiel. I've heard that she will call there a week before her maiden voyage starts. But I don't know if it's true...
Ah, can't wait for the cruise liner season to begin! :-D
