Takes me back to my mis-spent youth working for a shipping agent in Liverpool.
I think it may have been Canning Dock the Ellerman ships used back then. Whichever dock it was, the most memorable thing about them was the fruit.
Ellermans used to bring fruit to Liverpool, mainly from the MEditerranean area and the roads around the warehouses and the dockside were always covered in squashed oranges, lemons, apples etc
Walking on fruit squash was a tricky operation!
