Description:
Stern view of Canfornav's newbuild Blacky as it passes the Lorain lighthouse and the breakwater, entering Lake Erie for a voyage in ballast to Thunder Bay, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior. November 14, 2008. The image is not tilted: the lighthouse has a strong lean to it and the bow of the Blacky is riding high.
The Blacky, built and put into service in the fall of 2008, is on its maiden voyage. Canfornav names most of its ships after species of ducks native to Canada and Blacky refers to the black duck, a common species.
