Description:

Royal Navy nuclear sub. Trafalgar entering Southampton Water, for a 5 day courtesy visit to the city. Looks worse for wear and I hope its innards are in a better condition than what we can see. I guess we have to take the name on trust as there is n identification on these sub-sea warriors.

As a precaution, potassium iodide tablets were issued to all schools in the Southampton area. So that OK then !!

These craft are coated in an anechoic tileing to cut down on radiated noise, after time at sea they do tend to look a bit 'Scruffy', I can assure you that internally the vessel would be immaculate and a quick coat of 'Matt Black' would soon sort out the exterior !! :-)
