Hi Steve,

I've been curious today as well and couldn't get any info at work.
However I have just checked the cruisemates website and there are quite number of messages.
In short she has a blown thrust bearing a few hours out of Sydney and crossed the ditch at 12 knots. It has happened before aparently.
Engineers and spares are here from Germany and ETD is noon Monday, but the old man has said will probably be later due to situation being much than originally thought.
The bearing weighs in at 6 tonnes.

She blew a prop shaft bearing a few hours out of Sydney the other day so they headed straight for Auckland and skipped Wellington and Napier. Would have been a bit of a crawl at 13 knots.

Hello Stephen,
I am not entirely sure what has happened to her but she was scheduled to come into Wellington on Thursday 5/3/2009 but she canceled her visit only a few day's before her arrival.

I heard mechanical problems. Her Napier visit was cancelled as well.
