The North Korean vessel HYANG RO BONG IMO 8102115 - 8985gt - 15,175 dwt built 1982 collided with mv BONGO LANKA outside Chittagong harbour on the 17th April 2011, The vessel sustained a crack at the rear of the ship near the engine room and flooding the vessel, The North Korean cargo vessel was carrying a cargo of rice destined for Bangladesh. The cargo of rice was declared a loss.

Later that day, the Hyang Ro Bong sunk and rested on the sea bed with just the bridge section showing.
