Both Salsette and Salmara (1956, 8,199grt) were transferred from P&O's Far East Fleet to the Eastern and Australian Steamship Company (abt 1965) and renamed Arakawa and Aradina ( I served on both as a Cadet 1968 and 1969 respectively). Then transferred out of E&A when they moved into containerisation. The Aradina became the Tierra (well somthing along these lines). Will need to get into my files if you want a full history of these ships.

Cheers / Bill

Hi Chris,

My records tell me that I took this shot on 16.11.73.
She is in Crusader Line colours, so must have been running to Japan.
Ex Arakawa, ex Salmara.

Rgds/Mike
