Thanks guys ;-)

Michael: Well, Aarhus is not one of the most visited ports at all, but the cruise ship pier has nevertheless been used for the last 10 years or so :-) I think the average visiting statistics says about 15-20 ships per season... Normally the cruise ships are moored in the northern part of the harbour, but due to a huge expansion of a new residential area in the most of the harbour, they have moved the cruise ship pier from this season. They say it will give the tourists better conditions at the new location, but I'm afraid it will be more difficult to make photos there...

Hi.

Thanks for Your comment - I really appreciate it!

No, I wasn't on board her :-( I traveled about 25-30 kilometers to see her arrival, and just wanted to catch some great shots of her.
Unfortunately I cannot afford a trip on a cruise ship, yet, as I don't earn so much money according to my job as trainee - but in the future, I have a big dream of visiting the Mediterranean or Caribbean, traveling on a cruise ship! I have to ask, do You have any experience traveling on a cruise ship? And in case You have, how was it?

On Tuesday, July 7th, I'm traveling to Barcelona with my brother, who is also a cruise ship enthusiast, and there we hope to get near the cruise ships, so that we can get some great shots, and share them on this site. If You have ever been there, and have some ship spotting tips, I would be very glad to hear about it

Thanks for Your comment, once again, I appreciate Your interest! ;-)

Kind Regards,
Søren

I must admit I have never set foot on a cruiseship. I used to travel on ferries alot, and I do like to take photos of cruiseships. But I have tried instead travelling on cargo ships, to as well enjoy being onboard, getting to different places, learn something about shipping and without all that dress-code stuff, "act as if I was posh" things and such. I do have two voyage-reports on my website www.containerships.ch - but perhaps later, I somehow would like to try a cruiseship. Small, classic one without all the fuzz just for the sake of enjoying a cruise, not more.

Well, despite You haven't tried traveling on a cruise ship, it sounds very interesting traveling on the cargo ships. It must have been quite exciting? Was it part of an education, or how did You get the chance to sail, as employee perhaps? I can follow You in the dress-code demands, and must admit that it's a shame cruise ship passengers is forced to participate in the dress-code restrictions, or whatever it's called.

But, I still think, that there is something charming about traveling on such a ship, and till I have tried it, it will be a dream for life. And contrary to You, I would like to try one of the bigger ships, although I think the smaller ones are more pleasant if You really want to enjoy the cruise.

Hello, regarding travelling on a cargoship, there are various agencies where one can book a trip, and one can as well book directly via some shipowners. If you are interested, you can PM me and I can give you some addresses :-)
