She was one of about half a dozen Russian RO-RO's that were visiting Risdon at the time and latter for a short period Hobart. They would lift thier bow up and lower a ramp out to allow access to the hold and deck. Some of them also had capacity for the hold to be accessed via overhead gantry cranes by removal of deck sections by the overhead crane..
