Description:

American Steamship Co.'s Sam Laud is in layup in Toledo, Ohio on the Maumee River. Photo August 22, 2009. The Great Lakes bulker was built by Bay Shipbuilding Co., of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin in 1974. In 1990 she assumed her current name. The self-unloader is 634 feet, 10 inches long.

Correction she was built with the name Sam Laud in 1974. The Belle River was built in 1977 and currently sails as the Walter J. McCarthy Jr.
