Thanks for excellent image. I served my apprenticeship at Thompsons. The yard has gone now and in its place are university building and a National Glass Centre. The once busy quay sides are a wide promenade for walkers and cyclists.

A hark-back to "the good old days" when Norwegian shipowners like Westfal-Larsen would order their newbuildings from yards in the UK.

A classic three Island well done.
