Wreck of the "Telamon" which was built in Scotland as "Temple Hall" and which grounded 1981
Built 1953 at Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. in Dundee for Temple Steam Ship Company
1969 sold to Demetrios P. Margaronis & Sons, renamed "Pantelis", Greek flagg.
1970 sold to Cia. Naviera Para Viajes Sud Amerika SA 1
1977 sold to K. Mitsotakis & Sons, renamed "Telamon"
Sprang aleak underway with a cargo of logs from von San-Pédro an to Thessaloniki off Lanzarote, towed by a tuna boat to the bight between Costa Teguise and Arrecife near Las Caletas village to avoid a blockade of the port of Arrecife
The "Telamon" finally sank on Oct 31, 1981.
With logs taken of the cargo a sculpture was built which is standing in Costa Teguise since June 24, 2009, bearing the name La hoguera de San Juan.
