Outbound. Returning to Saint Andrews

The research vessel Viola M Davidson, was built by Abco Industries Ltd in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

The vessel's namesake, was a pioneer in marine research.

The vessel operates out of St. Andrews, NB, where Dr. Davidson was one of the first female marine scientists. As with all CCG DFO vessels it can be multi-tasked to Search & Rescue if needed, however, its primary role is research.
