NEWGLADE arriving at Avonmouth 19.5.68 to discharge a part cargo of sulphur having already discharged some at Manchester.
1944 Brockleymoor - 1960 Restormel - 1964 NEWGLADE - 7.11.68 fire in engine room at Kynosoura during which the 2nd Engineer and 2 firemen were killed. She was beached in Ambelaki Bay. Fire burnt until 10.11.68 causing very heavy damage, . in 20.11.68 re-moored at Kynasoura and declared CTL. - 1.70 b u Vado Ligure .
She was a standard Doxford built tramp built in 1944 for the Moor line before being sold to John Cory of Cardiff. Somewhat surprisingly, when she was purchased by the London Greek firm of Tsavliris, she retained her Cardiff registration. Following discharge in Avonmouth she remained there for 6 weeks undergoing engine repairs.
