Description:

Associated Levant Lines' 1948 Helsingborg built BEKAA, built for DFDS as RHODOS and purchased in 1968, having at first been renamed BEYROUTH, was photographed inbound for Rotterdam on 29th May 1975 during a voyage from Beirut to Antwerp.

Malcolm, I believe this vessel was built in 1948 at the Elsinore Shipyard ( Helsingør ) in Denmark as Rhodos - together with Samos and Lemnos. A fourth vessel, Melos was bult at Frederikshavn Shipyard also in Demark.

All four vessels were sold in 1968 to Associated Levant Lines in Beirut, Lebanon, which, I think, was the DFDS agent there.
